CONCERT ON SUNDAY 23 APRIL – THE SANDS FAMILY,
STARS OF THE COUNTY DOWN
No introduction is really necessary for the legendary Sands Family, neighbours from across Carlingford Lough. Tommy, Ben, Colm and Anne Sands have written, performed and carried the songs, music and stories of Ireland over the past forty years to almost every corner of the world. In exchange they have brought back to these shores, from wherever their art has taken them, the melodies of the hopes and histories of women and of men: songs of love; of life in all its shades; of people and their hopes and aspirations, their sorrow, their humour and their ever-kindled spirit.
Although several members of the family have played individually in the Heritage Centre, this is the first time in all the years that we have managed to bring them all together. Mark a very special date in your calendar - an afternoon of pleasure not to be missed.
And that's not all!
Sunday 30th April – Last of the Dubliners and a Mighty Guitarist - John Sheahan and Michael Howard.
Sunday 7th May – One Mean Master Fiddler and the Dancer - Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh and Nic Gareiss
Tickets can be purchased online: www.carlingfordheritagecentre.com or e-mail: [email protected] or phone +353 42 9373454 or +353 42 9373888
As ever, our warm appreciation to our artistic co-directors, Zoe Conway and John McIntyre and to Create Louth (The Arts Service Louth County Council) for making it happen.
