As we begin another year here at Carlingford House , we want to take a moment to remember someone who was at the very heart of this house for so many years.
Two weeks ago, we lost Peter Finegan. Peter was born and raised in this home, and together with his beloved wife Irene, he cared for it with pride, dedication, and warmth. For many years, Peter and Irene welcomed guests through these doors, running the house as a B&B and making everyone feel genuinely at home.
Peter had a special gift with people. He was always happy to give directions, share local knowledge, and suggest the very best of what Carlingford and the wider area had to offer. His love for the place was infectious, and he was a true ambassador for Louth tourism, promoting the region with passion and kindness to all who stayed here.
While Peter is no longer with us, his presence, his care for this house, and his legacy of hospitality remain part of it. We are proud to continue welcoming guests in a place that meant so much to him.
We remember Peter with great fondness and gratitude, and we know many of you who stayed here over the years will remember him too. 💚🤍💛
