Faces of Coachford | O'Callaghans Bar and Guestroom ๐ปโจ
When myself and Colette called in unannounced, Eileen was sitting down enjoying a quiet cuppa to herself. We got talking straight away about the project and what I was up to, and she couldn't have been more welcoming. While we were chatting away, Colette got stuck into a great chat with a few people at the bar, and next thing, Tony went in behind the counter to pull a fresh pint. โ๏ธ๐ฌ
I asked Eileen if she would mind if I took her photo, and she was more than happy to be involved. Tony jumped right in too, which was lovely. Just before the frame was taken, Eileen laughed and said, "I don't look ready for a photo!" But we all disagreed straight away and told her she looked absolutely perfect exactly as she was. They were wondering where they should stand, but I suggested they stay right where they were because the background behind the bar is brilliant, and they looked wonderful exactly where they stood. ๐ผ๏ธ
After taking the photo, Eileen asked for my number and went off to get her book to write it down. While she was gone, a fella at the bar enjoying his drink turned to me and said, "You should be posting these on TikTok, that's where you get the views and followers." ๐ฒ
I just laughed and said I keep them on Facebook because that's where my audience is. At the end of the day, it is never about chasing numbers or viewsโit is entirely about the people in the frame and capturing the honest, raw soul of the community. That is what shows off the true warmth and inviting vibe of a place like this. ๐ฅ๐
When Eileen came back out with her book to take down my details, it was just a lovely, genuine moment to cap the whole visit off. And I'm just the man behind the lens. ๐โจ
