We never get tired of the intricate beauty of Cobh, County Cork, on Ireland’s Ancient East. This colourful seaside town was once a major harbour for Irish emigration to America, and is famously known as the last port of call for the doomed Titanic in 1912. Between 1848 and 1950, it is said that around 2.5 million people boarded vessels from this harbour, journeying to foreign shores in hope of a better life. Today, the town showcases the fascinating Titanic Experience Cobh, where you can discover what life was like on board one of the most tragic cruise liners of all time – the entrance is in the original White Star Ticket Office in the town. Stationed on Great Island off the south-east corner of Ireland, Cobh has become a hub of activity known for its deliciously fresh seafood, heritage and the wonderful Fota Wildlife Park.

Another reason to pay a visit to our wonderful town.

Located along the sea in County Cork, the town of Cobh is home to the impressive St Colman’s Cathedral. Built in the neo-Gothic style over the course of 47 years, the cathedral finally opened in 1911. Its structure features a 100m-high spire and a tower that contains a 42-bell carillon, the largest in Ireland.

Today, the cathedral continues to hold religious services and often hosts recitals featuring choirs from around the world.
