Fort Dunree is situated 7 miles outside Buncrana on the Inishowen Peninsula, housing a Military Museum, Wildlife Discovery Room, Coffee Shop, stunning walks and majestic views of Lough Swilly.

Fort Dunree is steeped in history. A hidden gem of Irish history, with great views over Lough Swilly. The museum is well laid out and very informative. Formerly used by The Irish Defense Forces until 2008. Very interesting & educational. Fantastic views of Lough Swilly and you can even see Scotland on a clear day. We highly recommend a trip when visiting County Donegal.
