Some unsettled weather here in Doolin lately, but it can provide a few unexpectly wonderful sunsets.

As winter approaches, we have a little more time to get out and about. This photo was taken on a recent ramble just a couple of kms away from the Piper's Rest. There are many "green roads" like this in the Burren. This stretch forms part of the Burren Way - a 114Km trail which starts at Lahinch and ends in Corrafin, crossing the Burren National Park on the way. This particular green road forms part of the Ballynalacken-Fanore leg of the journey and follows the coastline of Galway Bay to the north of Doolin. On a clear day it affords views of Connemara over the bay. This particular view though, includes Doolin in the distance, nestling at the foot of the Cliffs of Moher.

We have been a little quiet over the winter. That is because we have been busy upgrading the property for you. As you can see, we have added a natural stone frontage to the house: What you can't see is that we have extended the dining room and revamped the kitchen, so that we can now offer our delicious full Irish breakfast to all of our guests :) Looking forward to a busy season ahead.

We had a little time off yesterday and ventured down to Loop Head in the south of the county. This spot was one which we had never visited before and needless to say, we can't wait to go back there.... Bridges of Ross, County Clare.
