Monday, 12 July 2021 We love this article about our wonderful city and we are really looking forward to welcoming tourists soon again so they can enjoy this city with us.
It was the day indoor dining was put on pause and I’d expected tumbleweed, a scattering of tables, too much edge. But I found just the right amount of edge.

One of your Guests recommended The Little Museum of Dublin and advised taking a guided tour. It's located on St. Stephen's Green which is just 1 km from Fitzwilliam Townhouse 👍☘️
This beautiful Harry Clarke stained glass window is one of the treasures of the Little Museum. Once lost and salvaged from a skip, it depicts St Brendan and is a perfect example of the skilled glasswork for which Clarke is renowned. Born in Dublin in 1889, he died in 1931 and is now considered one of the finest Irish artists of his generation.

Fitzwilliam Townhouse dates back to 1836. This was an important date in history, it was the same year as The Battle of the Alamo in Texas took place; The same year as the first railway opened in England linking London to Greenwich and that the city of Adelaide was founded in Australia.
The building in its original form contained a kitchen in the basement with a kitchen staff to serve the family with the Governess and children on the top floor.
The management and staff are proud of having the opportunity to work in such a unique historical period building in such a great location. We hope you enjoy your stay with us and appreciate this Building which has stood here since 1836. We have laid out historical information throughout the building to help give background to the owners and the home.
