What a way to kick off IMEX America 2026!

Our very own Stuart Thornton is representing Hotel Solutions DMC in Las Vegas this week for IMEX America 2026, one of the world's largest gatherings of professionals from the meetings, events and incentive travel industry.
And what a fantastic start it's been!

Ahead of the exhibition opening at Mandalay Bay, Stuart took part in the Golf Tournament, enjoying a round of golf alongside Drew Hirsty and Michael Nelson, followed by an evening of networking and catching up with industry colleagues at SITE Nite North America.

Hotel Solutions DMC was delighted to support the Meet in Ireland Golf Tournament, and it's wonderful to see Ireland so well represented on the international stage.

Events like IMEX America provide invaluable opportunities to strengthen existing relationships, make new connections and showcase everything Ireland has to offer as a destination for conferences, meetings and incentive programmes.

With the exhibition now getting underway, we're looking forward to hearing about Stuart's experiences, the conversations and connections made, and the opportunities that lie ahead.

It was a pleasure to welcome Brian Bourke from The Hardiman and The House Hotel Galway to the Hotel Solutions DMC office yesterday for a catch-up.

It was great to see Brian and hear the latest news from both properties and what's happening in Galway.

Maintaining strong relationships with our hotel partners helps us stay up to date with their latest developments and recommend the properties best suited to each client's requirements.

Located on Eyre Square, The Hardiman has been at the heart of Galway since 1852 and offers a versatile range of spaces for conferences, meetings and corporate events. With 105 individually designed bedrooms and Galway's train and coach stations right beside the hotel, its combination of meeting facilities, accommodation and accessibility makes it a particularly convenient option for residential events in Galway.

Just a short distance away in the heart of Galway's Latin Quarter, The House Hotel offers something a little different. The boutique four-star property provides a stylish city-centre accommodation option for corporate travellers and groups, within walking distance of many of Galway's key conference venues, businesses and attractions.

Together, the two properties give us two very different options to consider when sourcing accommodation, meetings and events in Galway, depending on the individual requirements of our clients.

What a night!

Hotel Solutions DMC was delighted to organise and event manage this year's IGBF President of Appeals Black Tie Ball 2026, which took place recently in the magnificent surroundings of The Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin.

Hosted by John O'Connor, Managing Director of Tayto Snacks and 2026 IGBF President of Appeals, the evening brought together colleagues and friends from across Ireland's retail and grocery industry in support of the incredible work of the Irish Grocers Benevolent Fund and what a wonderful evening it was.

Anúna delivered a truly memorable performance, receiving a well-deserved standing ovation from the room, while Marty Whelan was the consummate Master of Ceremonies. With his trademark warmth, humour and effortless professionalism, Marty had the room with him from the outset, and judging by the number of people looking to grab a photo with him throughout the evening, he may also have been the most photographed man in The Shelbourne Hotel!

Later, the Connor McKeon Band took to the stage and had the dance floor full from the very first song, providing the perfect finish to a fantastic night.

Most importantly, the evening was a tremendous success for the IGBF, raising vital funds to support the charity's work helping members of the retail and wholesale trade and their families who have fallen on hard times.

For the Hotel Solutions DMC team, it was a privilege to work behind the scenes on every aspect of the event and to see all that planning come together on the night.

A huge congratulations to John O'Connor and everyone at the IGBF, and a sincere thank you to The Shelbourne Hotel, all of the sponsors and supporters, our wonderful entertainers and everyone who attended and contributed to making the evening such a success.

It was a pleasure to welcome John Canny from to the Hotel Solutions DMC office this week.

It was great to catch up with John and hear the latest news from across the group's six four-star properties: Athlone Springs Hotel, Castle Oaks House Hotel, Castletroy Park Hotel, Charleville Park Hotel, The Killeshin Hotel and Lough Rea Hotel & Spa.

Maintaining strong relationships with our hotel partners helps us stay up to date with their latest developments and recommend the properties best suited to each client's requirements.

With six hotels across Galway, Limerick, Cork, Laois and the Midlands, the Só Hotel Group offers a great variety of locations and properties. From city and town locations to lakeside and riverside settings, the collection gives us a range of options to consider for conferences, meetings, group accommodation and events across Ireland.

Choosing the right conference venue: Five things worth considering

Choosing the right conference venue isn't just about finding enough bedrooms and a meeting room.

After organising conferences and events across Ireland for more than two decades, we've learned that some of the most important factors aren't always the most obvious. Here are five things we encourage every client to consider before making a final decision.

1. How will your delegates actually get there?

A venue with excellent rail links or motorway access can make a significant difference to attendance, delegate experience and sustainability objectives.

2. Does the meeting space suit your agenda?

A room that works perfectly for a theatre-style conference may not be suitable for workshops, exhibitions or networking sessions.

3. What happens outside the meeting room?

Breakout areas, informal networking spaces, restaurants and outdoor areas often become just as important as the conference room itself.

4. Does the venue regularly host events like yours?

Association conferences, pharmaceutical meetings, sales conferences, training programmes and executive retreats all have different requirements. Venues with experience in your particular type of event often understand those requirements before they're even asked.
