Where did time go?
Last I checked it was August.... 11th October now.
And Hanne's Cottage is officially closed for the season 2026.
It was a year of fewer guests and those who did find the portal to this unquie place were absolutely amazing. In fact, I haven't been able to keep up with all the beautiful reviews and stars that followed.
Will Hanne's Cottage open again in 2027?
I genuinely don't know at this point in writing. It might. However, I feel it needs a longer pause. And some kind of a res(e)t. I definitely do. But maybe it will open for a brief window of time, for shorter stays. Although, I would be further considering longer residencies and/or long-term rental of the Double Room. All to be decided with time.*
Either way. What I do know is, the world of photography and art want more of a center stage of focus for creating and working on new projects, and not be patiently waiting for the winter months. It has proven near impossible to do both simultaneously.
On the note of projects; I've recently been asked to work on the visuals for a book; Ag Dul Siar, about Doolin; tales told through 20 writers, celebrating the wonderful little Hotel Doolin in Co. Clare, a place that does so much for artists.

Be forewarned though, there will be a price increase for 2027, if I open , as this place is as unique as they come. It isn't just a room, it's a cottage with soul. And a stove. Organic teas and locally roasted coffee + the option to use the kitchen if needed (for simple cooking). Hanne's Cottage is a sanctuary, for people and wildlife alike, in a spectacular location with stunning views. Rural but pretty close to some of the best things Co. Clare has to offer.
Things to ponder. And time to do it
