ators of The Connemara Hostel which overlooks 'The Killary' - Ireland's only fjord - commanding incredible views along the waters of the fjord itself to where it enters the Atlantic ocean, and of course the mountains of Connemara all around. The location is ideal for hill-walking/mountaineering, biking, guided tours to learn about the native flora and fauna and of course the adventure activities offered nearby. The Connemara Hostel offers a mix of private rooms, family and dorm rooms - all en suite, a residents' area with pool table and log-fire, a spacious meeting room for groups, a TV lounge, drying room and picnic area. Not far from the famed surfing beaches at Lahinch and Fanore is The Burren Hostel, which was run as a 3 star hotel until Sleepzone Hostels purchased it in March 2007. The village of Lisdoonvarna has the advantage of being within easy reach of the Cliffs of Moher, the dolmens, Ailwee caves and castles of the region. Caving, potholing, horse-riding and hiking can all be enjoyed nearby.
