Sea Mist has closed since the end of October 2022. We were not sure until recently whether we would open up again as a bed and breakfast but decided as it was so difficult to get help that we would close down for good.
We would like to thank all the wonderful people who have stayed at Sea Mist from all corners of the world. We have enjoyed having each and everyone of you staying with us.
We have now decided to rent the house on a weekly basis to families for a minimum stay of six nights. We can cater for a maximum of 12 people. The house will be available from July 2023. There are six rooms four of which are ensuite and there is a family section consisting of two rooms with a shared shower room. All the rooms have TVs, Wi-Fi., washing machine and dryer. It is a luxury let so we will not accept party groups, hens or stags.
It is really suitable for families and extended families and mature guests. There is plenty of parking and a bus right outside the door that brings you right into the centre of town. We will help you plan your excursions , recommend restaurants, give you information on routes to Connemara and the Cliffs. Please call Marion at 00353863707593 for reservations.

We haven’t posted in a while as the season is very busy since we opened in March. Our guest are so happy to be travelling again and arriving from all over the world. It’s so nice to be meeting such happy people after the long covid. We are still being careful and creating a safe environment for our guests. We want to thank all our guests and especially the people who have been with us on a few occasions. We welcome you all. It’s May bank holiday weekend in Ireland and we are just about to serve breakfast. So wishing you all a great weekend and looking forward to meeting all the guests who have booked in over the next few months. If you need any help organising tours of Connemara, the Cliffs or the Aran Islands please contact us. For the high season which is very busy in Galway the atmosphere is electrica, music on the streets and it is great fun. July is the month for the festivals beginning with the Galway International Film Fleadh running from the 5th of July until the 10th of July. This is then followed by the famous Galway Arts Festival running from 11th July to 24th July. Finally we have a week long race meeting the Galway Races 25th of July to the 31st of July. I would recommend if you are travelling during this period I would advise you to look at restaurants in Quay Street which is our Latin Quarter my favourite place in Galway. If you see a restaurant you like you can email or text me and we will make a reservation for you. Time to start breakfast looking forward to meeting you all and have a safe journey.

Best wishes,
Marion and Maurice

What a fantastic few weeks we have had at Sea Mist welcoming back all our guests having been closed since 19th March 2019. We opened our doors on the 25th of July and it has been very busy. The house came to life with the sounds of happy holidaymakers who were all very excited to be on holiday. The weather was amazing and the guests travelled to Connemara , the Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands. They had a fantastic time and are looking forward to returning to Ireland in the future. It was lovely to reconnect with our
guests who had stayed with us before Covid. Thank you so much for choosing to stay at Sea Mist. We received great compliments for our Sea Mist freshly baked scones with many of our guests now baking at home all over the world having gone home with the recipie. We had a lovely couple from France and on the last day they told me that Michel was a French baker and could he have our recipie. So thank you to all our guests who have stayed with us over the past few weeks, it was lovely to meet you all and we hope we will meet again.

We are so happy to have a date 25th of June for reopening Sea Mist Bed and Breakfast after nearly 15 months. It has been too long. We are so looking forward to welcoming back our guests. We will be adhering to all the COVID guidelines to ensure your safety while staying at Sea Mist. Galway is slowly returning to the vibrant city that it is. There are musicians on the streets adding to its wonderful atmosphere. The Saturday market has come alive again. The walk along the prom has to be our favourite place. Then a swim in Galway Bay followed by dinner at one of the many wonderful restaurants. There will be a lot of outdoor dinning this summer. Some of the streets will be closed to traffic to accommodate more outdoor dining. Galway is the Gateway to Connemara and the Burren. The drive along the coast to the Burren which only takes 1.5 hours is spectacular. Visiting the many. beautiful villages along the way. For all you hikers there is a wonderful walk from Doolin to the Cliffs of Moher (three hours) or you can continue on to Liscannor and take the bus back to Doolin. If you are very fit you could walk back. (6 hours) There is a new ferry service going from Galway Docks to the Aran Islands Aran Islands Ferry which we are all excited about. You can spend a wonderful day there exploring the island on bicycles. Galway has so much to offer our visitors. See you all soon.

Was wäre ein Aufenthalt in Irland ohne einmal in einer der unzähligen, familiengeführten Bed & Breakfast Unterkünfte zu übernachten?

Just a quick update on Sea Mist Bed and Breakfast. This year is incredibly difficult and we really missed all our guests and getting to know you all with the wonderful stories of you travels and the countries you come from. We had decided that we were going to have to live safely with this dreadful virus. We had just decided to open up mid September. Unfortunate Maurice my husband fell from a ladder and broke his ankle. Poor Maurice is out of action for the next few weeks so we will now open Sea Mist on 1st of February 2021 when we will welcome back our guests. We are looking forward to getting back to work. See you all in 2021 and thank you all for your continued support. Stay safe everybody.

This week five years ago we opened the doors of our bed and breakfast to our first guests who arrived from Israel. We were so excited and terrified at the same time. This was a new venture for both myself and my husband. Although I grew up in a small bed and breakfast I had a lot to learn as a lot had changed over the years. We have had the most wonderful guests arriving at Sea Mist from all over the world and I have to say I miss every one of you. We exchanged stories of our travels and countries and I hope you have enjoyed all the wonderful places on the West coast that I had advised you to visit. I hope you are all baking the famous Sea Mist scones and our brown bread as many of you went away with the recipies.
Unfortunately and reluctantly we have taken the difficult decision to temporarily close Sea Mist Bed and Breakfast due to the spread of the Coronavirus Covid-19. This is in the interest of the health and safety of our guests and staff until we reopen on the 1st of February 2021.
We would like to thank all our regular guests for their support since we opened our doors. We have been very successful thanks to your wonderful custom and amazing reviews. We hope and pray that 2021 will be our best year yet when we will welcome you all back with open arms.

Go n-eirí an t-ádh libh agus coinnigh slán
Best wishes and keep safe

The official launch is on February 8th and the year runs until 31st of January 2021. Galway is a wonderful vibrant city with many festivals all year round so we look forward to welcoming our guests again in the new year.
