🌼 The wildflowers are doing their thing...

One of our favourite parts of the site has really come to life over the last few days and we couldn't be happier with it.

This was always part of the plan when we were building Ballyhoura Glamping. We wanted to create a little haven for biodiversity and give the bees, butterflies and all the other critters a place to thrive. Seeing it come to life like this makes all the effort worthwhile.

A little reminder to slow down, take a look around and enjoy the small moments. Grab a coffee, sit back and take it all in.

One of the first questions people ask before booking Ballyhoura Glamping in the Ballyhoura Mountains is about the bathroom situation 😅

And honestly… fair enough.

People love the idea of escaping to the countryside for a night or two, but nobody wants to be wandering across a field in the middle of the night looking for the loo.

So every cabin pod has its own private ensuite with a hot shower, hand basin and loo, plus fluffy towels and Green Angel toiletries waiting for you when you arrive 😌

You still get the mountain views, fresh air and cosy cabin experience… just with a few extra comforts thrown in.

Tucked away in the Ballyhoura Mountains, within easy reach of both Cork and Limerick.

With Earth Day, we take a moment to reflect on what we’re doing and how we can do better 🌍

At Ballyhoura Glamping, caring for the environment has always been part of how we do things. From the beginning, we made a conscious decision not to use single-use plastics. We refill our organic Irish toiletries from Green Angel, and we separate waste, recycling and compost, with compost going back into our planting.

We use harvested rainwater to care for our plants, and we’ve chosen to work with a 100% green electricity supplier. Over time, we’ve planted native trees like crab apple, birch, rowan and whitethorn, along with wildflower areas to support pollinators.

Supporting local is just as important to us. Our welcome hampers include produce from nearby suppliers, and we always encourage guests to explore the Ballyhoura region while respecting it through a leave no trace approach.

It’s not about getting everything perfect, just about doing our bit and continuing to learn as we go.
