Carrig Country House is situated in one of the most beautiful hideaways in the world on the shores of Lake Caragh just off Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way. The AA five-diamond, 17-bedroom property is set in four acres of beautiful gardens featuring 950 species of mature tress and plants and which sweep down to its own private jetty on the lake. wildness of the Magillacuddy Reeks. Our acclaimed Lakside Restaurant, has won several awards and features a seasonal menu featuring the finest local ingredients. Originally built c. 1850 as a hunting lodge, Carrig House’s previous owners include Lord Brockett Snr, Sir Aubrey Metcalf and Arthur Rose Vincent before it was bought by Frank & Mary Slattery in 1996 who set about renovating and meticulously decorating the beautiful Victorian residence. Carrig Country House is a member of Ireland's Blue Book, the prestigious collection of Irish country house hotels, historic hotels, restaurants and castles.

Here’s a perfect trio from our Carrig dinner menu.

To start, Warm Green Asparagus Spears
artichoke & asparagus, quail egg, Wilmas gouda shavings, Xérès mayonnaise, cheese cracker crumbs.

Followed by Atlantic Hake, Lentil, celeriac & hazelnut, with wild garlic cream for main course. Sides are a selection of seasonal vegetables & potatoes. Chunky home-cut pommes frites fried in duck fat or a Garden salad.

Then from our Dessert menu, Warm Roasted Pear, muscovado & rum jelly, pear puree,
