We’ve been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to transform the Tara Hotel, and we can’t wait for you to see it!

Ireland's second largest national park, and it's on our doorstep 🌊

Glenveagh is around 70km from the Tara Hotel, a scenic run of roughly 90 minutes through the Bluestacks and on into the Derryveagh Mountains.

Over 15,000 hectares of mountain, lough and native woodland, with a castle and Victorian gardens at the heart of it. Entry to the park is free, there's a shuttle bus up to the castle, and the Lakeside Walk and Derrylahan Nature Trail are both grand for younger legs.
Red deer, golden eagles and not a bit of traffic. A place to truly unwind and experience what Donegal has to Offer ⛰️

We were over the moon to welcome Donegal Olympian Kelly McGrory to Atlantis Spa for some much-needed R&R. Here she is with our Spa Manager, Jennifer, after taking a little time to slow down, ease tired muscles and recharge.

Katie will be looking to end her incredible career as world champion once more, and we'll be showing it live on our screens.

174 steps down to one of the finest beaches in Ireland 🌊

The Silver Strand in Malin Beg is a perfect horseshoe beach tucked between two headlands, about 45 minutes from our front door. The steps are the price of admission and they're worth every one of them.

Make a day of it and stop at Glencolmcille Folk Village.
The Folk Village is a clachan of thatched cottages furnished as they would have been in the 1700s, 1800s and 1900s, with a tea room and a craft shop when you're done. Open daily through the season.

Explore by day, then come back to the comfort of the Tara Hotel and Atlantis Spa, and maybe even book a hot stone massage after walking all those steps.
