🌅 Start your Saturday above the clouds… there’s something pretty special about watching a new day begin from the Ballyhouras.

Join us for the Dawn Chorus Walk to Seefin as part of the 30th Ballyhoura Walking Festival and experience the mountains in the quiet of the early morning.

Setting off at 6am, we’ll make our way towards Seefin as the landscape slowly wakes around us – fresh air, changing skies and, weather permitting, a sunrise worth getting out of bed for!

In partnership with Ballyhoura Development, we’re bringing local communities together this October to learn about the wildlife found in our peatlands and celebrate the connections people have with these special places. Meet your facilitators for the day!

Rachel Dowling – Ecologist

Rachel is an ecologist with experience in nature restoration, conservation and community-led environmental projects. She’ll introduce us to the wildlife, ecology and importance of local peatlands, exploring how these landscapes support biodiversity, store carbon, protect clean water and help us adapt to a changing climate.

Becky Hatchett – Artist & Creative Facilitator

Becky is an artist, designer and creative facilitator with over 20 years’ experience creating participatory projects with communities and organisations. She’ll lead a hands-on creative session exploring connections with local peatlands, as well as our hopes for their future.

Choose from either date/ venue:
Saturday 10th October at Forrest Hall, Mitchelstown
Sunday 11th October at Deebert House Hotel,
Killmallock.
