Here are some stunning landmarks that are scattered near the glorious Cascade Lodge. These landmarks hold very dear memories and are close to our hearts. Pictured firstly is the green fields of Cruit Island's Golf Course, which attracts many a visitor, rain, hail or snow. My late Grandfather, Denis Doherty's boat is pictured secondly, this is a shipwreck of his much loved fishing trawler, used to provide for his family. He owned this boat, the Realt na Meara in Gaeilge or The Star of The Sea in English, with his brothers Francie and John, who both sadly passed recently. In my grandfather's memory, there is a marble bench, plotted beside the infamous Bridge of Cruit Island. This bench is dedicated to residents of Cruit Island; Michael Doogan, Denis Doherty and Joe Forker. This Bridge is a landmark in itself, as people come from far and wide to see the stunning views, and to take a leap. Lastly photographed is the amazing Mount Errigal, which can be seen proudly standing tall from the homely property of Cascade Lodge. 🍀
