Donegal is officially one of the 10 best regions in the world to visit in 2024!

Lonely Planet has unveiled its annual hotlist of trending destinations for the coming year.

The Best in Travel 2024 guide ranks Donegal as the fourth best region in the world.

Donegal has it all: the longest coastline in Ireland, one of the highest accessible sea cliffs in Europe and 100+ beaches.

The fortress was built in the 1420s. For almost 200 years it served as home, refuge and bastion for at least 13 MacSweeney chiefs – some of whom were party and witness to the most seismic events of Irish history.
Doe Castle in County Donegal is definitely a must-see when touring the north of Ireland 💚

Inishowen Carnival Presents Strange Creatures.

Join us for an unforgettable evening on Culture Night (Friday 22nd Sept) as Inishowen Carnival presents a sculpture and performance trail through Letterkenny Town Park.

Inspired by the diversity on planet earth, the performance trail features weird and wonderful creatures that emerge from the undergrowth, evolving in response to the challenges and bounties of their own particular environment.

Performance Schedule:

6.00pm-8.00pm: Sculpture trail only. No performance. Quiet background music only.

8.00pm: Lights on

8.00pm – 9.00pm: Performances including dance, samba band, fire, circus skills and walkabout characters.

9.00pm – 10.00pm: Repeat performances including dance, samba band, fire, circus skills and walkabout characters.
