🚣‍♀️ The Cork Harbour Festival & Ocean to City Rás Mór is passing through Monkstown this Saturday! 🚣‍♂️

One of Cork Harbour’s most spectacular events returns on Saturday 30th May as over 200 boats, kayaks, currachs, dragon boats and paddleboards make their way through the harbour for Ocean to City - An Rás Mór. The fleet is expected to pass Monkstown from approximately 12:30pm.

If you’re planning to watch the action, The Bosun is the ideal spot to soak up the atmosphere and watch the boats pass by. ⚓

We’ll be open from 12pm with:
☕ Takeaway coffees
🥐 Fresh homemade scones
🍽 Lunch service
🍻 Drinks by the harbour

One of the things we’re asked most often, both by guests staying with us and by people in the bar, is:

Remembering Nicky: Two Years On

On 13 March 2024, we lost Nicky - a much-loved husband, father, family man, and a friend to so many.

His sudden passing left a space that can never be filled. He is missed deeply by me, his family, the wonderful staff who stood beside him, and by the local and wider community of loyal customers of The Bosun, where he dedicated 40 years of his life. Not a day goes by that he isn’t remembered, talked about, loved and missed.
