It was an absolute pleasure hosting Domhnall Gleeson and his lovely group of creative friends at the glampsite recently.

They even took a quick tour of our new accommodations on the Meadow Glampsite.

To be completely honest, it felt slightly surreal, and, while I did my best not to behave like a starstruck weirdo, I had to ask for a photo!

(If only to prove that stars really do choose to visit lovely Laois!).

They were so nice about it - and even said they might return…

Wow! 🥰😭🤩🥲 We asked for your glampsite memories as part of 10 year anniversary competition…

What you guys shared really blew us away!

We got comments, texts, DMs & emails from guests, friends, followers and yes, even other glampsite owners (!), wishing us well & celebrating with us.

But the best ones were the real life stories from people who’ve stayed here over the years. One was from a family who were here the 2nd week we opened! (Thanks Gemma! 😍).

Reading through your memories of first time stays, regular return visits, campfire laughs, making friends and even find frogs (!) brought all the memories back for us too. And let’s just say, it meant a lot!!! 😭

Hello!

Our Instagram has gone a bit bananas with new followers/friends (Hello!) over the past few days!

And, this week, marks 10 years of Glamping Under The Stars! (10 YEARS!)

So now feels like a good time to introduce ourselves…

🔥I’m Kyra. He’s Barry.
Together we are Mr & Mrs Glamping Under The Stars.

🔥He’s Irish. I’m a blow in (from England).

🔥He likes high octane sports and rocket fuel coffee. I like singing, swimming & yoga (low octane sports!) and earl grey tea.

🔥We both love campfires 🔥 🔥🔥🔥🔥

🔥We have 2 glampsites (Meadow & Mountain).

🔥And 3 kids (1 boy & 2 girls).

🔥Barry’s our resident builder, fixer, master craftsman & woodcraft wizard. A good man to know.

🔥I’m the meeter & greeter, question answerer, & social media enthusiast. I’m always happy to answer your questions (any excuse to talk about glamping!).

🔥We host: family stays & family gatherings, hen party groups, hiking & wild swimming groups, corporate (SME) team bonding getaways, and you can even hire the site as a yoga retreat venue.

American tourists came from Colorado - to stay in our hobbit village glamping site in Ireland! My jaw hit the floor when I heard they’d started their entire Irish itinerary because they saw us on Instagram 🤩😮😃

🔥”Your glamping photos are great… But they don’t do it justice!”
🔥”I’ve seen this place on socials, but being here in real life is something else!”…

We hear comments like this a lot! (Including when our guests arrived this weekend!!)

We do TRY to share what it’s really like at our glampsites. But nothing is quite the same as being here.

Maybe because you can’t hear the birdsong & laughter, see the sunlight through the leaves of the trees, or smell the campfire, the sausages on the bbq, and the fresh cut grass?

Maybe because you’re not experiencing the excitement of being in a special place, while simultaneously feeling your shoulders relax… just a little bit… as you start to settle in?

Maybe you just need to try it for yourself to see why it feels different?

What an amazing 24 hours in Lovely Laois! Stay in a hobbit village, yoga sesh, ancient ruins, a bluebell wood, fantastic pizza, stunning views, perfect coffee & pastries. Sounds good, right?
