***Public Notice Reminder***

Avondale Forest Park will be closed to visitors Monday-Friday from Monday, 14th March until early May of this year to ensure the health and safety of all visitors while construction works are underway on the site.

Please note, Avondale Forest Park will be open and accessible every weekend, and also on public holidays during this period.
The Avondale Forest parkrun will still take place every Saturday morning at 09:30.

The health and safety of all visitors to Avondale Forest Park is our absolute priority. We’ve done everything we can to keep the park open for as long as possible but as works near completion, the level of construction on site has increased. We regret having to close the park on weekdays from tomorrow, 14th March, but it is necessary to ensure the safety of all visitors and workers on site.
We apologise of any inconvenience caused.

Construction works on site are expected to take up to 10 weeks after which the park is expected to open to the public. People are asked to please adhere to all safety signage on site while works are underway.
Alternative and nearby forest walks are available at Coillte’s Ballygannon Wood, on the Laragh Road just 1km outside Rathdrum, the Avonmore Way and Jubilee Walk in and around Rathdrum.

Reviews like this make it all worthwhile

We booked this B&B through booking.com, for its strategic location between Glendalough and Wicklow town, and because the reviews were all excellent. As soon as we got there, we figured out why they were. The house, located on main street of the small village of Rathdrum, is truly spectacular! Mrs. Daphne has given us a warm welcome and a beautiful room: Tastefully furnished, super spacious, impeccably clean and equipped with every comfort. Upon entering the room he left us the breakfast menu, with an extensive list of options (the real spoils of choice) to select. Then she gave us advice and explanations about Wicklow County and advised us where to dine. All good options! We immediately booked a second night at Daphne's!
The breakfast that prepared us both mornings, at the time we had selected, was at least fabulous. Blueberry pancakes with syrup and cream are one of the best I've ever had. But looking at other guests' breakfasts, they were all great. The house is also equipped with a common area with sofas and a fireplace where we have chatted with other guests. Well-functioning wi-fi internet, and free parking in the street of the property. Highly recommended, and not to mention, if we come back here, it will be our first option to stay.
- Absolutely nothing to criticize. It's so sad to have to leave!
