In 1978, Joe & Phyllis Kettle first opened “The Rolestown Inn” offering the people of Rolestown, as well as neighbouring small towns, a pl
ace to frequent for food & drink, something that had not been available until that time. Initially, the menu was quite modest with staple menu items such as pies, sandwiches and burgers. Over the next 30 years, Joe & Phyllis, and their growing workforce, including the Kettle children, moved with the times and expanded on their menu to meet the supply and demand. As the menu grew and evolved, signature dishes were created, including our popular “Bernie's Chicken Curry”, which remains on our menu to this day. Joe and Phyllis’ motto was to make sure your customer leaves with a smile and they will be sure to return! This value and outlook truly paved the way for the next generation of Kettles who in 2007 transformed the family business into a successful 4-star hotel, renamed Kettle's Country House Hotel.
