Urlingford on the Move Walking Track

Urlingford on the Move Walking Track A walk way of approximately 550 metres long and 2 metres wide with a tarmacadam and concrete surface.

To facilitate use by families, parents of babies and older members of the community, the walkway will be wheelchair and buggy friendly. Walking Surface: A walk way of approximately 550 metres long and 2 metres wide with a tarmacadam and concrete surface. Lighting on the walkway will provide discrete lighting for the walking track. This lighting will allow for use of the walkway during the winter,

spring and autumn months and to ensure the facility will be safe to use for the full year-round. The provision of cost effective, discrete lighting will also allow for longer periods of use together with ensure we keep the carbon footprint low with energy efficient lighting. Fencing: There are areas of the walkway where fencing will be needed to ensure safety of walkers. On the raised end of the proposed walkway at the bottom of the field, a safety fence is needed as there is a two to three metre drop from the walkway on both sides. Water stations: To ensure the walkway is a standalone facility available to all the community we will install two water stations on the walkway to allow walkers access to hydration. Access: The walking track will have its own access gate directly onto the walkway so that walkers will not need to go through the Emeralds GAA carpark.

*Brilliant to see the work going on in the field this morning with the ball wall being painted and the right side dugout being removed to make way for a new pair, arriving next week.*

*Thanks to Tom and Padraig Phelan for demolishing the dugout, and incidentally, it was Tom Phelan, together with Paddy Ryan and Johnny Moriarty who built those dugouts originally!*

*PLEASE NOTE: The right hand side of the walkway is temporarily closed to facilitate work but will reopen later today*

Due to a fallen tree on walking track the walking track is closed and off limits as it's very dangerous, until it is cleared.

PLEASE RESPECT THE WALKWAY!
There have been numerous reports of dog fouling on the pitch, walkway and even the astro turf.
There are strict rules that there are no dogs allowed (except for guide/assistance dogs) into the Clubgrounds at any time.

Be extra careful using the Walking Track with the frosty and icy weather at the moment. It's slippery enough up there today and the forecast is to stay the same for a few days so please take care when walking or running on track.
