In a historical building in the German Colony -the tourism hotspot of modern Haifa- and at the edge of the Mount Carmel, Al-Yakhour Hostel is a start-up project by a group of young Palestinians. Get to know Palestinians, hear their stories and take trip advice from locals. The Yakhouris are happy to guide you. Are you a group of friends traveling together? The beach is just 10 minutes away from the bus station right in front of the hostel. Looking for Haifa’s nightlife? With dozens of restaurants, cafes, and bars walking-distance from the hostel, you’re sure to have a good time. The popular Masada Street’s bars are just 10 minutes away. Want to see the beauty of the country? The Mount Carmel and the Haifa Bay are famous sights of natural beauty, with many hiking trails around the mountain. Al-Yakhour is the Turkish name for a historic place in Haifa where, until the early 20th century, horses were loaded with barley on their way to the windmills. The ancient Al-Yakhour was owned by George Seuss, who welcomed German Caesar Wilhelm II and his wife Augusta Victoria during their visit to Haifa in 1898 and led them by his horse and wagon through the German colony heading to the Mount Carmel where there are now memorial cannon. In this rustic atmosphere, at the heart of the Hostel is a cozy lounge with a bar and library. Evenings will be passed with good music (to one's own taste..), table games, cards and the one or another drink. We're looking forward to additionally hosting different kinds of events here. We are a low cost hostel, which means: In the mornings you can get a rich breakfast on the cheap or cook your lunch in the fully-equipped kitchen. You can use the laundry room and hostel-owned towels for a small contribution. The rooms are air- conditioned and we provide free Wi-Fi. The dorms contain 4 to 8 beds, or you can choose one of two apartments. We are renovating the courtyard into a garden, perfect for mild summer evenings. This is how you reach us:
From the airport and all major cities, Al-Yakhour is easy to get to by public transportation. Via train, the Haifa Central station is only a 10-minute walk. From either of Haifa’s central bus stations (Hof HaCarmel and Merkazit HaMifratz) the Germany Colony is easily accessible by many bus routes. The easy to use Metronit routes 1 and 2 arrive in front of the Hostel and operate in English, Arabic and Hebrew. Yalla, looking forward to seeing you! Salamat
"الياخور" نزل شبابي بديل في حيفا

في مبنى تاريخي في الحي الألماني؛ المنطقة السياحية الأكثر ارتيادًا في حيفا الحديثة، وعند أسفل سفح جبل الكرمل، تجدون نزل الياخور؛ مشروع بادرت إليه مجموعة من الشباب الفلسطينيين. يعتبر الآن مكانًا مفتوحًا للقاء أصدقاء الياخور من سكان حيفا، ونقطة انطلاق مثيرة لتبدأ منها رحلتك في البلاد. يشرّع الياخور أمامك أبوابًا لاكتشاف المكان وقصصه من خلال أهله وناسه.
ترغب باكتشاف حيفا، الجليل، الجولان، عكا ومدن أخرى، ولا تعلم من أين تبدأ؟ نحن في الياخور سنكون سعداء جدًا بإرشادك، من خلال طرق تقيم اعتبارًا لأصالة المكان وسكانه؛ سنعرفك إلى فلسطينيين، تسمع قصصهم وتأخذ منهم نصائح تغني رحلتك.
إن كنتم مجموعة من الأصدقاء تسافرون معًا، يبعد الشاطئ مدة 10 دقائق من محطة الباص المقابلة للنزل. هل تبحثون عن حياة ليلية في حيفا؟ ثمة العشرات من المطاعم والمقاهي والبارات التي تستطيعون ارتيادها مشيًا على الأقدام من النزل. أما مسّادا؛ شارع البارات ذائع الصيت، فيبعد 10 دقائق. وحتمًا ستقضون وقتًا ممتعًا!
هل تودون التمتع بجمال المدينة؟ يعتبر جبل الكرمل وخليج حيفا منظرين طبيعيين مدهشين، فبإمكانكم إمتاع نظركم منهما من خلال مسارات معدّة للمشي حول الجبل.
الياخور هو اسم تركي لمكان تاريخي في حيفا، استخدم، حتى أوائل القرن العشرين، كمحطٍ للخيول وموزع للشعير والقمح. أما مالك هذا الياخور القديم فكان جورج سوس، الذي استضاف القيصر الألماني فيلهيلم الثاني وزوجته أوغوستا فيكتوريا خلال زيارتهما لحيفا عام 1898، وقادهما بحصانه وعربته مرورًا من الحي الألماني حتى جبل الكرمل، حيث وضعت المدافع التذكارية.
في أجواء قروية وسط النزل، تجدون رواقًا حميمًا يحتوي على بار ومكتبة، تضفى عليه موسيقى جميلة، قد تتلاءم وذائقتكم. بالإضافة إلى ألعاب طاولة، أوراق لعب، تمارسونها برفقة كأس أو أكثر.. كما يسعى الياخور إلى استضافة أمسيات وأنشطة أخرى مختلفة.
يمكنكم، دون تردد، اعتبارنا نزلاً زهيد التكلفة! ما يعني أنكم تستطيعون، في صباحاتكم، الحصول على وجبة إفطار غنية أو تحضير وجبة غدائكم بنفسكم في مطبخنا المجهز وبسعر رخيص. بإمكانكم، أيضًا، استخدام غرفة الغسيل ومناشف النزل، باشتراك بسيط. كما أن الغرف مزودة بمكيفات وانترنت مجاني. تحتوي الغرف على 4-8 أسرّة، كما يمكنكم اختيار إحدى الشقتين المتوفرتين. نعمل الآن على تحويل الحوش إلى حديقة، تلائم أمسيات الصيف اللطيفة.
كيف تصلون إلى الياخور:
من المطار والمدن الرئيسية، تستطيعون الوصول إلى الياخور عبر المواصلات العامة. إن استخدمتم القطار، يبعد النزل عن محطة القطار المركزية في حيفا مدة 10 دقائق مشيًا على الأقدام. أما من محطات الباصات المركزية ("حوف هكرمل" و"مركزيت همفراتس")، فيمكنكم الوصول إلى الحي الألماني بسهولة وعبر عدة خطوط للباصات، أو عن طريق المترونيت (خط 1 و2)، والتي تقف قبالة النزل، وتزود ركابها بأسماء المحطات باللغة العربية والإنجليزية والعبرية.
