Concerning the Guest House
The building is one of the oldest in Nazareth area which part of it belonged to one of the wealthiest families; El- kawar family for more than 150 years .The building itself was built by the first mayor in Nazareth; Tannos Qawar (1819-1888) who was elected as a mayor from 1875 till 1884. The building is located in the old city of Nazareth, in the way that links between the Orthodox Annunciation church, the White Mosque and the Basilica of Annunciation. Sibat refers to the curved architectural structure and El-Quwar refers actually to the family who owned the building. How did the guest house gain its name, Samira? Samira Abu Nassar is the aunt of the house new owner. She was born in 1934, grew up at her grandmother's house called Sarwa Haddad who was one of Tannous granddaughters. Samira visited the house occasionally together with her grandmother. She owns beautiful and passionate memories from an old great time.
