Beach Cleanup @ Shanghumukham

As part of CMCA's Annual Day,a Trivandrum based non profit organisation Helping Hands Organisation in association with WWF conducted a Beach Clean Up Event. But rather than just another dull clean up act, along with the help from Santha Paint House, Manuel Nath and volunteers from fine arts college colours of joy were spread wide on the wall facing the Beach, based on the theme of the cultural ethnicity of Kerala.

Apart from this the Students of St. Vincent and Trivandrum Scottish School along with volunteers from TCS and SCT conducted a survey to know the approach of different people to waste management. A part from this, the yearlong activities of the schools associated with CMCA was also exhibited, through photographs and the works they had done. Through this event we were able to help children understand the concept of segregation at source.

Cleanliness is not just an idea for day, but a habit for a lifetime. So do visit Shanghumugham, enjoy the beach and the painting, but do enjoy responsibly and let’s keep Shanghumugham clean, do use the litter bins that have been officially inaugurated today.

Thirty leading bloggers from 25 countries set out on a fortnight road trip across Kerala on Monday to explore the State’s culture and heritage.

On Monday, Minister for Tourism A.P. Anil Kumar led the bloggers, all clad in white T-shirts with the tagline ‘Trip of a lifetime,’ to the flagging-off ceremony of the Kerala Blog Express.

Tourism Secretary K.R. Jyothilal and Tourism Director T.V. Anupama were present during an interaction with the bloggers.
