It was our pleasure to host the renowned Indian actor, singer, and musician Mr. Lucky Ali and his family at Evolve Back Coorg.

"We loved the whole experience—the nature, the staff, the facilities, and especially the food, which felt homemade."

During his stay, Mr. Ali also planted a Malabar tamarind sapling as a symbol of renewal and continued good fortune. We look forward to welcoming him and his family back to Evolve Back once again.

Yet, in the decades since independence, the rapid pace of development has begun to place increasing strain on many small indigenous communities. It is steadily displacing them from traditional occupations and ways of life that have long defined their identity.

Native Roots is a photo essay that seeks to document these unique cultures as they stand at the crossroads of an inevitable transition.
