When the lockdown happened we thought 3 months max and we’d be back to business as usual, how optimistic were we?

We waited 2 long years for the business to pick up from where it left off, our savings dried up maintaining the house and keeping it looking as you all had seen and experienced it, we missed the laughter, the clanking of cutlery during group dine in and we missed you all.

How have you all been? Hoping you are all holding your own with dignity and health as a constant companion. Adversity brings out the worst in people, one needs to always keep their head above the water, eyes on the horizon and hands to the heart.

Gratitude for all that the universe gave us through our decade long operation - the wonderful humans we call extended family ❤️🌺.

Hold on tight to hope, invest more in Love and spend more on family time. Grab every opportunity fir human connections, physical intimacy and touch, in the bizarre world going the AI way these connections will keep us sane.

We have moved to Goa, and hoping to try fresh innings at a new venture.

Villa Camelot has new humans keeping the vibrancy and energy alive with their spiritedness and feisty DIY personality like the two of us.

These rooms have seen the hustle and bustle from around the world ! The racks have seen luggage with tags from all over the country and the world , the mattresses have offered respite to weary travellers across all ages , the drawers still have plastic / paper bags / books left behind for others who may need them ❤️.

It’s now been a few months that we hosted anyone , we had hope in March for the world to recover from the pandemic , our hopes come crashing each day that the lockdown gets extended .

It will be a long time before anyone joins the banter in this home . We have picked ourselves up today and decided to clean , sanitise and CLOSE these rooms .

All windows will be weather proofed and the beds disinfected , pest control for ants and we can then reminisce on the many sounds that’d emanate from these rooms .

We thank everyone for enriching our journey of life along the way 🥰❤️🙏🏻.

We all have been well and have been thinking of all our extended family . The down time surprisingly doesn’t feel strange when you have loved ones to share it with .

Dhairya is here as his boarding school is closed down too and we have been soaking in all the times we can with him .

The lockdown can mean different things to different people based on where you stand on the privilege ladder . It will be a long time before tourism picks up and people start showing up , the world will not be the same as we knew it before the Pandemic .

While all your countries have leaders taking you through the survival fiscal plan , ours wanted people to step into their balconies at 9 PM for 9 minutes , turning off lights to scare the virus away . Needless to say Indians are always up for any challenge and I share some videos with you all to laugh a bit .

Laughter always lifts the ‘spirits’ they say 😉

Ivo came as a young boy in his twenties , first time out of Europe and first time in India . This was late October of 2012 . He stayed for 3 months with us while on his first job , a project with SAP Labs.

Although weekdays were busy but he’d often find time to go around Bangalore with other inhouse guests . It’s been 8 long years since he checked out , needless to say we have thought of him every single day and look back fondly on our time with him . We even went clubbing together one night ... all of us bnb brood and nearly got picked up by the cops while we were headed for an after party 🙄🤪🤣, I save that story for another day .

So ,he had a week long conference starting 3rd Feb and decided to stay 2 nights with us , however much like ‘expect the unexpected ‘ his corporate plans changed and he was to just attend the back to back conference and fly back tonight . He flew in on the 2nd and we decided to catch up over dinner at home , his request ‘ALL INDIAN’ please 😀.

Raghu has been away in Goa and missed the opportunity to get to meet him again but I enjoyed the evening to the hilt .

He is soaring high in his career and jetsets around the world with the ‘global elite’ . Making prudent career choices and being able to see ‘opportunities way ahead of time’ is something that is second skin to him . He moves back to Europe after a decade of working in Singapore and we are happy for him in all our being .
