A pool isn’t really luxury….so what’s so great about this one Coorg Wilderness Resort ?

Visualise an early morning dip in this infinity pool and you can see clouds meandering by traveling from one hill to the next….
Watch the birds sitting on tree tops right next to you, drying off and feeding the young ones.

Listen to all the bird calls that you would have never experienced before….

Imagine swimming through the cool waters on a sunny day with the tall trees providing shade while you take a dip.
Do you get that where you live?
We don’t and so this is luxury for us! Luxury at the lap of nature 🙂

Are you into Philately?
Then you will surely recognise her- Meet Kheta Ben Desar Dua of Gandhi Nu Gam -Gujarat.

In 1997 Khera Ben along with 3 other ladies from Arunachal Pradesh , Kerela and Ladakh were featured in the 4th edition of a stamp series exhibition by India post .

The Indian postal department had introduced stamps which depicted the rural women in India. The exhibition by India Post was organised as a tribute from them to the country on the occasion of Golden Jubilee of Independence.

Today Kheta Ben has become the face of Gandhi Nu Gam village which was completely destroyed during the 2001 earthquake in Gujarat.

Today Gandhi Nu Gam is known for the traditional artworks that they make which includes clothes, bags, mats, accessories etc. The women in the village keep themselves busy with embroidery work and the men get themselves involved in beautiful woodwork. The hand made art and crafts of Gandhi Nu Gam has become the lifeline of this village now.

For those who didn’t know -Vidur is very much into Philately and this is one of the few stamp which he doesn’t have 😝

You have heard about food tourism, culture tourism, wildlife tourism etc but have you ever heard about Border Tourism?

Welcome to Nadabet - The Indo - Pak border in Gujarat which is located 239kms from Ahmedabad.

At Nadabet you not only stand at the zero point from where Pakistan is just 150meters away but you also witness the life and legacy of the BSF jawans who have been vigilantly protecting our nation since 1965.

During the Indo-Pak war of 1971, BSF played a very important role as they stepped in the war and fought the enemies until the Indian Army arrived and later fought the war together with the Indian Army.

Today Nadabet has been opened for tourists as the Govt of Gujarat together with the BSF has made a complete infrastructure which includes a museum, an art gallery, a food court , an adventure zone and a stadium apart from a visit to the Border.

My pictures can never ever do justice to the feeling one goes through while standing at an International Border. The adrenaline rush and the goosebumps that you get in such a place is beyond words.

If you like visiting borders then Nadabet should be in your next destination for sure. But do remember that you will need an entire day here as there are so many things to do and explore here . I will be sharing more posts with more details about this place.

As for now I can only thank Gujarat Tourism for giving me this opportunity to explore Nadabet. This means so much to me and if given a chance I would go there again and again .
