**Becoming a First-Generation Entrepreneur** INDIA

For first-generation entrepreneurs, the biggest resistance often comes from their own family, followed by government authorities, and only then from competition. The first major hurdle is identifying the right business—whether it’s a new idea or an existing one. Securing capital is another significant challenge in India. Unfortunately, bankers aren’t much help. Most bankers, especially at lower levels, think they know everything about every business and assess yours without understanding your vision or approach. They need to rise to the level of your ideas, but this rarely happens. Banks avoid risks with new businesses and prefer those already established, leaving you to fend for yourself.

Once you’ve developed a business plan and somehow managed to gather funding—whether from yourself, friends, or relatives—the next obstacle is dealing with government agencies. While regulations have become more lenient, the bureaucrats remain the same. Unless the process is faceless, registrations or licensing move at a snail’s pace.

With your business plan in place and company formation underway, the next step is hiring. Finding reliable employees is another challenge. Despite the vast number of unemployed youth in India, you’ll need luck to find trustworthy and capable workers, especially when starting an MSME. Good employees are crucial.

Business always has its ups and downs. If you’re running it on your own, you need faith in yourself and your venture. It’s not a bed of roses—challenges will come from all directions, and you’ll need to fight through them to succeed. That’s why moral support from your family is essential—whether from your parents if you’re single or your spouse if you’re married. Support is especially crucial when things aren’t going well. Wrong decisions are inevitable, but how you recover from them is what counts.

When business is down, that’s when you need moral support the most. Constant negativity from your family during tough times only drags you down further. It takes a big heart to rise above it. But if you have faith in your business, hard work, and the ability to learn from mistakes without repeating them, you can turn things around. Success will have many taking credit, but when business falters, it’s just you standing alone.

Happy Independence Day! As we celebrate the 78th year of independence, we proudly stand as the world’s largest democracy. Our nation is on a path of innovation and development, boasting the third-largest economy globally. However, as we grow into an economic power, we must remain vigilant against those who seek to undermine us from within and outside our borders. It is crucial for all of us to stand united and keep India strong.

Our country’s strength lies in its diversity: from young people to farmers, from tribals to women, from those serving in defense forces to those working in both government and private sectors, and from the plains to the mountains and islands. We all contribute to our nation’s growth. We are steadily becoming self-sufficient, producing enough food to feed our growing population and even exporting the surplus. However, our farmers must be supported, freed from the grip of middlemen, and educated to resist those who exploit them for political gain or to destabilize the country.

India is making significant strides with initiatives like Aadhaar, UPI ID, and the implementation of GST. Yet, we still face the challenge of connecting our rivers, which is vital for the equitable distribution of water resources. We must also be wary of politicians who try to divide us along caste lines; it is important for people to see through these tactics and rise above them.

Surrounded by unstable neighbors, we must continue to support our armed forces who ensure our safety. A secure nation is essential for prosperity. We also need further reforms that transcend boundaries, strengthening our country even more. The MSME sector needs bolstering, and while our banking system has improved, some bankers must adopt new perspectives and embrace emerging businesses.

Finally, while we excel in cricket, other sports still need attention. The private sector should invest more in developing sports facilities and infrastructure to ensure we succeed across all disciplines.

Vinod Kambli and Sachin Tendulkar are two iconic figures in Indian cricket, and their careers offer a fascinating study in contrasts. Both were prodigious talents from a young age, and their 664-run partnership in school cricket is legendary. However, their paths diverged significantly as they moved into their professional careers.

Vinod Kambli, known for his elegant batting style, had immense potential and early success. He outscored Sachin in their famous partnership, showcasing his remarkable talent. However, Kambli's career didn't reach the same heights as Sachin's. Various factors contributed to this, including injuries, off-field controversies, and perhaps a lack of the same level of support and guidance that Sachin received.

Sachin Tendulkar, on the other hand, had an extraordinary career, becoming one of the greatest cricketers of all time. His success can be attributed not only to his talent but also to his disciplined approach, strong support system, and the guidance he received from mentors and family. Sachin's focus, resilience, and ability to handle fame and pressure set him apart.

My observation about the importance of a support system is crucial. Fame and success can be overwhelming, and having the right support system to manage one's career, finances, and personal life is essential. For celebrities and normal individuals alike, mentors, advisors, and a strong family foundation can make a significant difference in how they navigate their paths and sustain their achievements.

Vinod Kambli's story serves as a reminder of how talent alone is not enough; the right environment and support are also vital for long-term success. Sachin Tendulkar's journey highlights how these factors, combined with exceptional talent and hard work, can lead to sustained greatness.

In the viral video, Kambli could be seen struggling to keep balance as he leaned on a nearby motorbike for assistance while standing on the side of the road.
