Some places don’t ask you to become anything. They just let you arrive.

Unbreaking is a small women’s wellbeing retreat at The Forest Edge, our nine-room stone homestay in Tirthan Valley. Five slow days grounded in positive psychology. Not fixing, just room to rebuild, quietly, at your own pace.

Mornings move slowly. Afternoons are yours. Evenings gather around wood fires, good food from the valley, and the dogs underfoot.

2 to 6 September 2026. Rooms are limited, by design.

Honoured to be in the Condé Nast Traveller India Black Book 2026.
Enquiries open. Link in bio.

Somewhere between the last unanswered email and the promise you keep making to yourself, you slipped down your own list. Quietly, the way most women do - one yes to everyone else at a time.

This September, come find the thread back to yourself. Five days in Tirthan Valley, the river at your doorstep, the forest doing half the work. Not a spa weekend. Not a yoga retreat. A deliberate pause - grounded in science, held by nature, led by someone who has walked her own way back more than once.

Unbreaking: Reset. Restore. Rise.

Same meadow. Two days. One where the ranges lay themselves out, sharp and certain, and you can name every peak you’re looking at. And one where the mountain vanishes into cloud, and there’s nothing to name, nothing to point at - just the not-knowing, and the quiet ask to stay in it anyway.

We tend to reach for clarity. But there’s a version of beauty that only shows up when you stop trying to see and just breathe where you’re standing.

Sarchi Meadow gave us both, a few days apart.

You don’t need a vacation. You need a change of scenery that doesn’t interrupt the Tuesday 11am call.

We’re opening up The Forest Edge for slow-living, long-stay guests this monsoon - a proper desk, dependable wifi, and a Tirthan river view doing the job your desktop wallpaper used to do.

15 nights, 30 nights, however long you need to actually exhale - DM us and we’ll talk specifics.

Let's face it- garbage situation in mountains is grave. We can keep arguing whether it is tourists who are responsible or the residents - that does not solve the issue. And places like Tirthan Valley which are remote and have no recycling facility nearby nor the awareness are quietly getting buried under endless packets of chips. To tackle it, we keep making big plans, move associations, scheduling meetings- but the road blocks and constraints prevent long-term changes. Because of this, most of us feel discouraged enough to not focus on the small stuff either.
So we decided to experiment with whatever we have on terms of resources and knowledge. Four library regulars were asked if they would like to exchange filled garbage bags for stationery items. They would have to take bags from us, fill it with plastic waste, get it back, get the tally noted against their name and take home their earnings- a crayon set, pencils, notebooks etc. At the end of the month, the one who brings back the most gets a schoolbag. The children quickly agreed and took bags. They were back in half an hour to claim their prize and take the next bag. AND they asked, Ma'am aur bachchey bhi kar saktey hain?'

We might soon be out of garbage bags and prizes! That's a happy shortage to have ❤️❤️❤️
Wish all of luck!

PS: as I was typing this post, the last picture that you see? Yep, the first ones brought in two more and now we have six bags within two hours.

We count our blessings everyday. And one of the biggest reasons for gratitude is that the variety of flora that has made our home greener over the years has become home to different kinds of birds, bees, butterflies and moths. Each time we see them flitting about, making nests, feeding on nectar - we say a silent prayer and a big thank you to Nature.
