1. Blue-capped Rock Thrush (Monticola cinclorhyncha)
• Habitat: Found in wooded areas and foothills, especially during migration.
• Identification: Brilliant blue head and upperparts, orange underparts, and a melodious call.
• Fun Fact: This bird migrates from the Himalayan regions to peninsular India in winter — a special visitor to serene places like Ved Farms!
2. Small Minivet (Pericrocotus cinnamomeus)
• Habitat: Open forests, gardens, and groves.
• Identification: Males are bright orange and black; females are yellowish.
• Fun Fact: Minivets are highly social and are often seen flitting in small groups, bringing flashes of color across the treetops.
3. Asian Paradise Flycatcher (Terpsiphone paradisi)
• Habitat: Well-wooded areas, gardens, and forests.
• Identification: Males have a striking bluish-black head with long, ribbon-like tail feathers; females are rufous above and white below.
• Fun Fact: Males develop their iconic long tail during the breeding season — a symbol of grace and beauty in Indian mythology and art.
