paradise. As my grandparents told me, Galgibag isn’t what is shown to you,but what you discover yourself. This place to me is more than just a house by the beach; it’s the forest, the rivers and the hills that surround it. The newest addition to our beach cottage rooms, where marine-life inspired aesthetics meet comfort and space. Stumbled upon these pictures of the tiny, old road that used to lead up to Galgibaga Beach, captured from a nearby hill. Little did we know then that one day, years later, we would be looking back on these pictorial gems reminiscent of those simpler, happy times before this road was transformed into NH66 :)

ᴡᴇ'ʀᴇ ʀᴇᴀᴅʏ ꜰᴏʀ ᴛʜᴇ ᴏꜰꜰ-ꜱᴇᴀꜱᴏɴ..

As a family who frequently made trips to our holiday home pretty much throughout the year, we made sure that monsoon visits were mandatory.

Right from the picturesque drive from north goa to Galgibaga, to just being amidst lush green landscapes, green paddy fields, salty aroma of the sea breeze, thriving waterfalls around, chorus of frogs and cicadas, the sound of rain on the roof tiles, the rainy months are both enchanting and refreshing.

Have you experienced this side of Goa, in contrast to its usual well-known sun-soaked version?

𝑪𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 200 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑮𝒂𝒍𝒈𝒊𝒃𝒂𝒈𝒂 𝑪𝒉𝒖𝒓𝒄𝒉

Known by many names - 'Santo Antonio de Lisboa Igreja em Galgibaga' or the St Anthony of Lisbon Church, Galgibaga; it was originally built by the Portuguese during their reign in Goa over 2 centuries ago as a little chapel, in the year 1807. A few years later, it attained it's rank of a Parish Church in 1824 and has been a happy place ever since, where everybody in the village comes together to celebrate every feast and occasion.
