I've visited Goa a few times but never got the opportunity to visit Divar Island. Took the ferry with our car from Raibandar across. Venturing to don't know where but wherever our wheels took us . I must say it's quite vastly inhabited and the neighborhood is extremely friendly when we asked for directions to the Divar Island hotel which was the only thing I found online. Maps didn't seem to work so we switched the damn thing off.
We pounced upon a beautiful peaceful resort and retreat called Divayar Retreat. We managed to get a quick tour of the grounds . A wedding set up was being arranged on the riverside which I'm sure turned out to be a rather ostentatious event with glitz and glamour. The resort can be hired out for a yoga retreat or functions with a 133 rooms if my memory serves me right. While waiting to get back onto the next ferry out an ambulance was brought in for an emergency patient on the island. I was quite amazed at this being a trauma specialist myself it was something I've not experienced except for the merchant ship transfers and medivacs. Managed to exit in Old Goa catching a glimpse of St Francis Xaviers Church. Ended up having lunch in Mapusa .. post to follow.
