The Road less travelled is not always the Road less googled.

The number of visits people make to some of the so called “off-beat destinations” in “virtual web space” is in no way inferior to some of the similarly situated popular tourist places. This interest could be explained by the fact that “off beat places” promise a peaceful and pollution free environ while established tourist destinations have been commercialised to an extent that they look the very

replica of life (Overcrowding, Traffic Jams, Parking problems, long queues etc. to name a few) which people are trying to escape from. Nevertheless, this interest doesn’t get reflected in the actual tourist traffic on ground. Present tourism in these places is largely generated only due to the efforts of Adventure Tour operators who have brought these places to tourist map through their adventure camps. But adventure tourism has its own limitations, namely:
1. Adventure camps cater to a niche segment leaving bulk of leisure tourists out of its purview. Thus it can only bring in limited tourist traffic.
2. Running adventure camps require specialised skill and training which needs outside support. It limits the capacity of local communities to share the benefit accruing from enhanced tourism opportunities. The Road less Travelled Ventures endeavours to develop such “off beat places” into preferred alternative tourism destinations through attractive leisure tourism packages managed by local communities. Our endeavour will result in a better balanced development of tourist places by spreading excess tourist flow from overexploited regions to identified alternative tourist destinations. At the heart of our endeavour is development of a much pleasurable tourism experience. Let us explore, experience and exude a fun tour on Road Less Travelled. Spoiler Alert: Any one looking for all night gala amplified with DJ system, please look somewhere else. We plan to welcome new year in our usual quiet way (as we have done for previous 10 years). In early part of the evening of 31st December we will have our own folk music and folk dance where we will be joined by villagers of Koruwa village. It is our way of expressing gratitude to people of jaunsar who have been exceptionally kind to us.
Other than that we see New year eve as an opportunity to reflect quietly on journey in the past.
Wish all our patrons a very prosperous and meaningful New year.
