•Dahi Chiura, Asar 15•

Not just for farmers but for all Nepali, Asar 15 (असार १५ ) or “Dahi Chiura khane din (दहि चिउरा खाने दिन)” is a special day. Ashar 15 is also known as Ropain Diwas or Dhan Diwas, National Rice Plantation Day, National Paddy Day), and Agriculture Day in Nepal. On this day, people plant the rice sapling in the fields, play on muddy fields, sing typical Nepali folk songs (Asare Geets) and enjoy delicacies like Dahi(curd) chiura(beaten rice).
