At Cossimbazar Palace of the Roys (Rajbari), Durga Puja begins from Pratipada itself, and for all ten days the historic Chandi Mandap comes alive with age-old rituals, rhythmic dhaak beats, and the fragrance of shiuli and incense filling the palace corridors. Rather than rushing in during the last few crowded days of the festivities, plan your stay from Pratipada and witness the puja unfold in its complete, unhurried form. It also gives you the time to explore the many historic sites of Murshidabad situated close to the Rajbari, making for a fuller and more memorable pujo experience. This year, Maha Ashtami and Sandhi Puja fall on 19th October, followed by Nabami on the 20th and Bijoya Dashami on the 21st, bringing the celebrations to a heartfelt close.
Experience Durga Puja the way it has been celebrated for nearly three centuries — amidst the grandeur and living heritage of a 290-year-old Rajbari, where tradition, devotion, and history come together every single day of the puja.
