A devastating flash flood surged through the Bhotekoshi River in northern Nepal, severely affecting Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading.

At least 95 people have been reported dead, with hundreds still missing, including local residents and foreign travellers. Rescue operations are underway.

Our prayers are with Nepal and everyone affected.

The mountains do not just create legends. Sometimes they become their final home.

Today, with a very heavy heart, we remember Nirmal “Nimsdai” Purja.

He showed the world that determination has no limits. From climbing all 14 peaks above 8,000 metres in a record 6 months and 6 days to leading the first all Nepali team to summit K2 in winter, his journey inspired millions.

His legacy will live on in every climber, every dreamer, and everyone who looks at the mountains with hope.

Rest in Peace, Nimsdai.
