Gangtok, 12 June 2026.
Today marked a memorable and inspiring occasion for SBI RSETI Gangtok as we were privileged to welcome
Sri G. Murli Rao, State Director, NAR, who visited our institute to review, guide, and assess the ongoing training and development activities being conducted under the Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) framework.
The visit was undertaken to ensure that all training programmes and Institutional activities are being implemented effectively in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines prescribed by the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Government of India, and NAR.
During his visit,
Sri G. Murli Rao interacted extensively with the trainees of the ongoing 31-Day Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) Owner-Driver Residential Training Programme. Addressing the participants, he motivated them to remain focused on their goals and encouraged them to transform the skills acquired during the training into sustainable self-employment opportunities.
Highlighting the vast potential of Sikkim’s thriving Tourism Sector, Sri Rao advised the trainees to explore entrepreneurial opportunities in tourist taxi services and allied transport activities. He emphasized that with dedication, professionalism, and a customer-centric approach, they can establish successful ventures, achieve financial independence, and contribute meaningfully to the economic development of the State.
He further encouraged the trainees to become job creators rather than job seekers and to make optimum use of the knowledge, practical exposure, and entrepreneurial guidance being imparted through the training programme.
The interaction proved highly engaging and motivational, leaving the trainees inspired and confident about their future prospects. They expressed their commitment to utilizing the skills and knowledge gained through the programme to build successful careers as Owner-Drivers and entrepreneurs.
The visit of Sri G. Murli Rao was a source of encouragement and motivation not only for the trainees but also for the faculty and staff of SBI RSETI Gangtok. His valuable insights and constructive guidance will further strengthen the institute’s efforts in promoting entrepreneurship, skill development, and sustainable self-employment opportunities among rural youth.
SBI RSETI Gangtok conveys its heartfelt gratitude to Sri G. Murli Rao, State Director, NAR, for his esteemed visit, inspiring interaction, and continued support towards empowering aspiring entrepreneurs and fostering sustainable livelihood opportunities.
