Taramchu Bridge between Chungthang-Lachen set to Reopen

Newly constructed bridge located at Taramchu River between Chungthang and Lachen in North Sikkim is now ready for use after being washed away during the 2025 monsoon.

According to sources, the newly constructed bridge is likely to be opened on 25 February 2026. The restoration of this vital link is expected to bring major relief to Lachen residents, improving connectivity, tourism and easing daily travel in the area.
