Mud Chulha or Chulha is a traditional U-shaped mud cooking stove which is used for indoor cooking. Chulha is a U-shaped mud stove made from local clay. Before the use of cooking gas came into vogue in Darjeeling hills the locals use to cook and prepare their food in mud Chulha. The fire in a mud Chulha is started using fire wood which acts as a fuel for the fire. The food cooked in Mud-Chulha have flavor, aroma and taste which is unique and can never be paralleled by the modern methods of cooking food using cooking gas.
