Independence Day | What Does Freedom Truly Mean?

When we think of Independence, we usually think of freedom from external control.

But our scriptures invite us to look deeper.

Maharaja Pariksh*t could have destroyed Kali Yuga. Yet, with great wisdom, he understood that every age carries its own path of spiritual opportunity.

And Kali Yuga has been given something extraordinary.

What earlier ages may have demanded through great austerities, penance and years of spiritual discipline can, in this age, be approached through something beautifully simple:

Naam J*p.

Taking the name of Bhagwan.
Remembering Him.
Keeping Him present in our lives.

Perhaps this is the deepest form of independence.

Freedom from fear.
Freedom from ego.
Freedom from endless desires.
Freedom from the restless mind.

True independence is when the mind no longer remains a slave to the world.
