Save & share to explore the best Dussehra celebrations across India! 🙌

Dussehra marks the victory of good over evil: Ram’s win over Ravan and Durga’s triumph over Mahishasura. 🏹

But how India celebrates that victory changes every few hundred kilometres. ✨

In some cities, giant Ravan effigies go up in flames after nights of Ramlila. 🔥 In others, the day closes Durga Puja with sindoor, dhak beats and a heartfelt farewell to the goddess. 🌺 Some places light up royal palaces and take grand processions through the streets. 🐘 Up in the mountains, village deities gather for celebrations that go on for a week. 🏔️ And in a few corners, the festival stretches across months and honours local goddesses instead. 🪔

So, this year, celebrate Dussehra somewhere new.

Meet the Baby Taj, Agra’s Tomb of I’timad-ud-Daulah. Empress Nur Jahan built it for her parents between 1622 and 1628, and it became the first Mughal tomb dressed entirely in white marble, with semi-precious stones inlaid across its walls like embroidery. 🤍✨

And the Taj?
It rose a few years later, just down the Yamuna, carrying forward everything this tomb tried first. Which is why historians still call it the blueprint. 🕌
