Ambubachi Mela at K**akhya Temple.
Assam's famous Amba Bachi Festival was held from June 22nd to 26th, 2022 at the K**ak Temple in Guwahati. The K**a Cat Temple door will not be open to the public until June 26, 2022.
Celebration of the annual menstruation of the goddess K**akia. Mela is an energetic event, providing a scenic celebration of asceticists, making it a large and important gathering.
The Ambabachi concept has its roots in agricultural, religious and social influences. All of this combined to create the reason for the festival. Therefore, it is considered a symbol of religious approval. The word "ambabachi" means "speak in water." It also means that the monsoon contributes to the fertility of Mother Earth and prepares for the reproduction of Mother Earth. The menstruation of Mother Earth will be accessible to believers during Mela. As an auspicious time, women pray for childbirth during this time. On the fourth day of the trade fair, when the temple is open to the public, people receive a cloth soaked in what appears to be the goddess's menstrual fluid.
This festival is celebrated with Shakti rituals. Shakti traditional believers gather here to make ascetic forms of dedication, such as tantras, juggling, and even limb exercises with parts of the body. In both cases, asceticists practice extreme asceticism in a similarly strict form, so Mela is very similar to Kumbamela. Some activities remain buried in the mud, carrying heavy weights on sensitive body parts and standing continuously for days to months.
On the fourth day of the festival, Mar K**akia is said to have finished her menstrual cycle. At this time, the monks of the temple perform a ritual bath in Garbhagriha. The temple is then opened for believers to seek blessings from the goddess.
