As all of us know, parts of the states Maharashtra, Karnataka and Kerala have been affected by devastating floods and many people have become victims of the floods. So far so many NGOs and localites have been helping the flood victims constantly. No wonder they deserve to be applauded for their selfless service. Four of our volunteers Gautham, Sai, Shyamala and Nidah from our organization have left to the Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Kalyani, Vishal and Sandeep who are members of local NGO named Helping Hands for Humanity Organization are also helping the victims.
Firstly, our team visited the affected areas and found that many organisations have been already supporting the victims. They got acquaintance from Shri. Dhananjay Mahadik MP Kolhapur , former MP of Kolhapur and his son Pruthviraj Mahadik in the camp. They appreciated and took our volunteers to the affected areas all by themselves out of their own interest. Not only did they take our members to the affected areas but also provided them with proper accommodation and treated with utmost respect and they hospitality. Even the local people showered their love and affection towards our members. We are obliged to Shri. Dhananjay Mahadik MP Kolhapur , his family and to all the local people over there for welcoming us with open arms.
We were given to understand that the students of the government schools were supposed to leave their books in the school since they cannot carry heavy load of books. Due to the heavy rainfall, the books were damaged. Textbooks will be provided by the government for free of cost. Our volunteers suggested that we could give notebooks to the children which is not done by the government. Therefore, we accepted their suggestion and provided 1000 notebooks to three schools called Marathi Vidya Mandir, Urdu Vidya Mandir and Rajapur Vidya High School. This campaign is financially supported by the donors Anand&Bhanu Gorkal, chandra shekar, deepika, praveen, kiran, praveena, ram, revanth, sandeep and shyamala. They did great job and hence their munificent support truly deserves great appreciation. It's only because of them we could go to Kolhapur and help the children.
We whole heartedly appreciate and applaud the volunteers Gautham, Nidah, Sai and Shyamala for their fortitude and responsibility to go to the place and help them unconditionally.
