The General’s Retreat Home Stay/Hotel Built in the early 1960's by General K Umrao Singh of Chomu, The Generals Retreat served as his post-retirement sanctuary.

Designed by a French architect, it is a perfect blend of old and new. A part of the sprawling Chomu Estate, it is in the heart of Jaipur city. The Generals Retreat is an extension of the General's personality, a large hearted man, with a twinkle in his eyes and never at a loss for anecdotes. A scion of the Royal Chomu Thikana in Rajasthan, he was one of the few officers with a King's Commission in

the Indian Army. A man of varied interests , he spent his hours painting, writing, hamming and even dairy farming at The Retreat.
