Holi at Saraswatipur Tea Estate 🌈🦚

As colors rose in laughter across the estate, another kind of celebration unfolded among the tea bushes. A peacock opened his radiant fan, circling the peahens with patient determination, each turn a quiet declaration of courtship.

This is mating season in the gardens. As the days grow warmer and the light stretches longer, the males step into their most dazzling selves. Every shimmer of feather, every soft rustle of the train, is an invitation. A promise of strong genes, bright plumage, and the hope of new life woven into the season.

The peahens wandered with graceful indifference, choosing carefully, as nature intended. Romance here is not rushed. It is earned.

On a day when we celebrate color, the wild offered its own rangoli of blues and greens, a living festival beneath the open sky.

Bonfire Nights & Tribal Dance at Saraswatipur Tea Resort

Winter evenings at Saraswatipur unfold at an unhurried pace. When card games lose their charm and screens feel tiresome, we invite our guests to gather around a glowing bonfire under the open sky.

While some may question bonfires from an environmental lens, ours are modest, mindful, and meant to recreate an age-old way of coming together—sharing warmth, stories, and silence amidst nature.

The tribal dance you witness here is far removed from the stylised portrayals often seen in films. Performed in traditional, dignified attire, these dances reflect the quiet pride and deep-rooted culture of the local tribes. The performers are a close-knit community—working their daily jobs by day and, as night falls, coming together to dance to the rhythmic beat of drums, guided by the pulse of the forest.

Winter sets in with a gentle hush — a season of pause, renewal, and quiet strength. Most bushes rest and gather their energies, just as we, too, need moments of stillness to restore ourselves. Yet some sections continue to bloom and offer tender leaves, reminding us that even in our quieter seasons, small pockets of growth and inspiration can still appear. Not every season is meant for full flowering; some exist for preparation, reflection, and rebuilding. And just as the garden uses winter to ready itself while a few resilient shoots still push through, we also carry traces of progress within us. When the time is right, like the first bright leaf of spring, we rise refreshed — and shine in our fullest form.
