Feroz Khan dedicates ambulance van for Kargil Boys Hostel Channi Jammu
Reiterates LAHDC’s commitment for students’ welfare, stresses students to focus on their career goals
Jammu, MARCH 10, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan dedicated an ambulance van for the students of Kargil Boys Hostel Channi Rama Jammu today.
The ambulance has been provided at a cost of Rs 5 lacs under District Plan.
Assistant Executive Engineer R&B-II Kargil Mansoor Ahmad, Warden Kargil Boys Hostel Jammu Jehangir Ahmad Khan, President Kargil Boys Hostel Jammu Mohd Hassanain,President ALSWAJ Shaiziya Nazir,President WMSF Stanzin Yangchen besides other students of Kargil Boys Hostel Jammu were present on the occasion.
CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan on the occasion said that the ambulance was sanctioned last year considering its urgent need for the students of Kargil residing in Jammu.
He urged the Warden and the President KBHJ to ensure judicious usage of the ambulance for welfare of the students.
Regarding the construction of Kargil Girls Hostel at Jammu, the CEC said that the LAHDC, Kargil had committed that such a hostel will be constructed at the earliest possibility and keeping the said promise, 60 per cent work on the construction work of Kargil Girls Hostel at Sidhra Jammu has been completed, adding he said that if the work continues on the same pace, it is hoped that from next year admissions will be given to the girl students at the hostel.
Feroz Khan said that coming up of this hostel will be a boon for the girl students, as they would no more require to stay as tenants at rented apartments.
As regards to the steps being taken for further development of the Kargil Boys Hostel Bemina Srinagar, Khan said that the Engineering team has been directed to carry out an assessment of the hostel to understand whether there is any possibility to add 2 more stories to the building. If it is possible, more students can get admission in the hostel in future.
Feroz Khan said that the LAHDC, Kargil has also requested the Jammu and Kashmir UT Government for allocation of land for construction of boys and girls hostels at Srinagar on the pattern of the hostels constructed at Jammu.
CEC Khan assured students that requisite measures will be taken to address all their genuine issues and demands after discussing these matters with the executive members of the students union. He also stressed students to focus on the purpose for which their parents have sent them to Jammu.
The CEC said that the students should focus on their studies and the LAHDC is committed to provide them all possible facilities they need, adding steps will be taken to solve their issues at the Council level, and if need arises , issues will also be taken up with the UT Administration as well for redressal.
Meanwhile, President KBHJ Mohd Hassanain on behalf of the student community of Kargil residing in Kargil Boys Hostel Jammu expressed gratitude to the CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan and EC Health Mohd Ali Chandan for dedicating the ambulance, and added that it will be beneficial for the students in terms of healthcare especially in case of emergencies.
