Hello everyone!
Despite new and fancy properties coming up around the hills of Kalimpong, our hotel remains the only original "HERITAGE THREE-STAR" property here.
Formerly known as Dinajpur House, the summer residence of the last Maharaja of Dinajpur (Sri Dinnanath Roy) the property was bought by Sri GP Yonzone in 1960.
The old bungalow was renovated and rented out to government offices until 1978, after which his second son decided to run a guest house, simply known as Park Guest House.
The business was upgraded to a hotel after the new building (annexe) was started in 1984 and ever since has come to be known as Kalimpong Park Hotel.
Over the years, despite two major political upheavals in our region, the hotel has steadily grown and now has a total of 25 bedrooms, including Suites offering all the facilities of a present-day three -star hotel.
The unique selling point is that we do not have any neighbours - we are within our own compound with garden, patio, car park and superb views of the mountains and valleys.
The selection of the name 'Park' was because of its superior location, just above Reshi Bankim Bontanical Park. The prefix (Kalimpong) was given so that our name would not be mixed up with other similar names, while 'Hotel' was our nature of business.
We welcome you all to come visit us to experience the Scottish and local heritage of the past.
Yours Sincerely,
Amode Yonzone
