Two luxury vagabonds at The Darang tea Estate
Our feedback for The Darang tea estate could be a lengthy one so kindly bear with us.
While travelling in HP and staying at various recommended homestays, my partner and myself were content with our month long Himachali sojourn.
Our next stop was Sawai Madhopur and we decided to take a day’s rest mid journey and landed at Darang Tea Estate and called it our home for the next 49 days. That’s the kind of place it is! Truly special in every sense of word.
Words won’t be enough to describe the beauty, grace and the indomitable spirit of the matriarch Ma’am Mrs. Neeru Bhandari.
She is a force to reckon with and thoroughly enjoys being herself and extending her class apart hospitality while you stay there and occupy one of the two beautifully curated planter’s bungalows set right in the middle of the expansive tea garden. She truly is interested in making sure that her guests are comfortable at all times and for you to enjoy your stay to the fullest and also her recommendations on everything in and around Palampur are spot on.
These bungalows are very comfortable, have great views and we had everything that’s needed to make ourselves comfortable.
We were always served the best home cooked meals as per our preferences ( From Paani puri to homegrown lychee deserts and everything in between) in the dinning room and never felt the need to explore the eatries in and around Palampur.
Sumptuous, organic and very homely good food with a dollop of love from ma’am made sure we lost a few kilos a very healthy way.
Mostly all the ingredients including seasonal fruits and vegetables are from the gardens. A special mention of Umedh ji who has been preparing all this lovely food for the family and their guests for more than five decades and Pooja and her assistants who makes sure that everything is s**c and span.
We also are thankful to the soft spoken Sachin who patiently drove us around whenever required.
Long walks in the tea garden, looking at snow peaks, reading from the extensive collection of books, listening to some music or making merry with Toofan the extra special BLACK retriever and Old and wise Diana the Labrador was how we lived the most beautiful days.
We travel extensively for leisure only and mostly prefer homestays and this has so far been the bestest home and the ultimate wonderland stay we have ever had so far.
We will always keep going back for it’s home for us now❤️❤️
