The thought of starting Chitvan Jungle Lodge came in 2002 when i visited Mukki zone of Kanha National Park. I was captivated by the sheer beauty of the forest. At that i thought we must have a resort here. After a considerable amount of research and deliberation on the resons and USP's of Chitvan we started building the resort in 2006 and was operational in October 2007. Starting with only 12 eleg
antly appointed spacious Suites Chitvan carved out a name of itself in the very first year of operation. Our biggest 3 USP's were unique location, followed by wonderfully conceptualized and designed Lodge followed by very personalized service. We believed in providing an experience rather than a hotel or a resort stay. Hence we added lot of things, including some learning for our guests who visit us. Some concepts like Zeer Pots became a big hit, the solar cooking was the next, followed by various steps we took to reduce water and carbon footprints in the area. The love and affection we received from the local community for the work that was done by us motivated us to serve our guests even better. The Certificate of Excellence started to follow year after year, and then the Traveller's Choice Award also happened. Since 2012 we have also been certified a Lodge with OUTSTANDING Practice award by the PUG Audit team of TOFT UK. These have been small landmarks in our journey of excellence where our focus has been to benefit the local community by our presence in the area.
